We bring the full programme of Night of the Fortresses in Šibenik!
The last days of April are reserved for Šibenik and Fortress Night, an event for which the idea was born in Krešimir's city, and more than 40 cities in three countries joined it.
The Night of the Fortresses will be held on April 29th and 30th, when the Šibenik fortresses of Barone and St. Michael's will be completely open to visitors, and in addition, it is free to enter all programs for children and adults.
FRIDAY NIGHT CONCERT
On Friday, April 29th, at 7 p.m., everyone interested can visit St. Michael's Fortress with expert guidance, enjoy the sunset and listen to interesting stories about the centuries-old ramparts and the rich history of Šibenik, and only an hour later the first concert of the season begins on St. Mihovil!
On the stage under the stands, the audience will first be warmed up by the winner of The Voice, the charismatic Vinko Ćemeraš & Talvi Tuuli, after which the Songkillers are in charge of the party, at whose concerts a great atmosphere is a sure thing.
SATURDAY DAY TOUR "GUARDIANS OF ŠIBENIK"
Saturday, 30th of April is reserved for the daily tour. At 10 am, the tour 'Guardians of Šibenik' departs from Fortress Barone, which was specially elaborated for the Night of the Fortresses for months by the Šibenik guides from the Association of St. Michael.

PROGRAMME FOR KIDS
On Saturday at 11 am at Fortress Barone for the youngest visitors begins the children's performance 'Three Piglets', a well-known story performed by the Children's Ensemble and the Studio Art Theatre Virko . With its cheerful approach to the plot, the show will delight all small spectators between the ages of four and ten.
After that, at the same place at 12 o'clock begins the workshop 'My Coin'. Young participants will have a good time making a replica of the medieval Šibenik coin in clay and learn through socializing and fun how it was traded in Šibenik a few centuries ago. The workshop is intended for children over six years of age.
FORTITUDE
The Night of the Fortresses, let's mention, was created as part of the European project FORTITUDE from the Interreg programme. Public institution Fortress of Culture Šibenik is the leading partner, while the project, which lasts for two years and ends in June, is also attended by the City of Karlovac, the City of Banja Luka and the Municipality of Bar. The aim of the project is to enrich the tourist offer and improve the attractiveness of established sites in three countries by creating new facilities. This is exactly how the Night of the Fortresses was created, a joint event that will be held annually, and was joined by a number of cities in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.
Through Fortitude, The Fortress of St.Michael's in Šibenik will receive a range of new content. These are new technological and spatial solutions in the souvenir shop and info desk, a new exhibition display, but also the renovated City Point center in the old town. These new, improved facilities will contribute to a better experience of daily visitors to St. Michael's.
The FORTITUDE project started on 1st of March 2020. and runs until June 30th of 2022. The project is led by Fortress of Culture Šibenik, and the partners on the project are the City of Karlovac, The Municipality of Bar and the City of Banja Luka. The total value of the project is 1,618,438.72 euros, of which 85% is co-financed by the Interreg IPA CBC Croatia-Bosnia and Herzegovina-Montenegro 2014.-2020. programme. The main objective of the project is to strengthen and diversify the cultural and tourism offer in the cross-border area and to develop capacities for the highest quality and sustainable management of cultural goods.
