After last year's delay, Asaf Avidan's concert at St. Michael's Fortress stage soon becomes reality! This artistic genius of worldly voice will hold his premier Croatian performance on August 6th. Šibenik thus found itself on a list of locations for Avidan's summer tour which also includes the most well-known European festivals, such as Exit, Nice Jazz Festival, and Electric Castle. Avidan is one of the very few global music names to perform in Croatia this summer, despite everything.
The audience at the fortress will get a unique chance to hear Avidan's newest material from his latest album Anagnorisis, the seventh in his career, whose eponymous tour was mainly planned for 2022. The album was created out of a sort of creative crisis that prompted Avidan to withdraw from his live performances and to spend some time in the north of Italy. That seclusion resulted in the album the critics declared one of the most successful artistic declarations in the already famous Avidan's career.
This year, the Israeli singer and songwriter who carries the title of being one of the best performers live returns rightfully under stage lights. Luckily for his fans in Croatia and wider, one of those is the unique stage at St. Michael's Fortress. It is precisely Avidan's concert that true music lovers surely won't miss.
The expressive androgynous voice of this exceptional artist is oftentimes compared to Jeff Buckley and Nina Simone. Although he entered the music scene relatively late at 26, Avidan's discography counts seven albums. The albums he'd made with the band Mojos – Reckoning, Poor Boy – Lucky Man, and Through the Gale – marked an enviable success and reached wider audiences. What brought Avidan worldwide popularity however was the remix of a song by the German DJ Waknelmut Reckoning Day (One Day) that reached the tops of music charts and a gained a record commercial success.
After a year-long wait, that one day is finally here! A very small number of tickets is still available in the Eventim and Croatia Tickets ticket systems, both online and at sales points. Also, tickets are obtainable at the City Point (info center od Šibenik fortresses) for the price of 260HRK.
From Fortress of Culture Šibenik, the concert organizer, comes a statement of how the event will be held at limited capacity according to the present recommendations by the National Security Headquarters. Therefore, digital covid certificates aren't needed.
