Exciting dance week at the St. Michael’s Fortress continues tonight and tomorrow, 24th and 25th July when Kokolo Afrobea tOrchestra , The Boogaloo Destroyers and Lambchop will perform , within Terraneo summer break 2015, and La Luz Visuals collective will be in charge with a visual dimension.
Kokolo Afrobeat Orchestra is an essential part of the new New York Afrobeat scene, from its beginnings in 2001, when an American musician, author, DJ and producer Ray Lugo founded the band. Music performed by Kokolo was created under the strong influence of punk, rock and reggae music, and their live shows regularly take on the atmosphere of hard rock concerts.
The founder of Kokolo, Ray Lugo in 2011. started The Boogaloo Destroyers, which will be presented on the same evening in Šibenik to the audience of this year's Terraneo summer break. Six members of The Destroyers will bring to the St . Michael’s Fortress the dance boogaloo sound of the 21st century and its original New York fusion of latin music, rhythm'n'blues and soul which in the 60s of the last century has become a daily soundtrack for second and third generation of young Cubans and Puerto Ricans who grew up to the rhythms of mambo, sona, guaracha, bomba and plana , but are just as fascinated with the sounds of Tamla Motown, James Brown and Ray Charles!
For warm up and after party program on the St. Michael’s Fortress on Friday 24.7. will be in charge Terraneo DJ Crew - UNCLEFUNK and Borovic and in order to achieve the best dance club atmosphere concerts will be held in the framework of the so-called Fortress program "under the auditorium".
Saturday, 25.7. is reserved for certainly one of the most anticipated concerts of this year's Terraneo summer break - Lambchop, one of the most respected americana/alt-country bands from Nashville. Lambchops musical expression, along with their frontman Kurt Wagner, is based on that good old American popular music and in the meantime they developed and branded entirely their specific combination of country, soul, jazz, indie - rock and avant-garde noise .
