St. Michael's Fortress, the 2014. Cultural attraction of the year, has recently celebrated its first birthday, and during the first 365 days it has already attracted over 135000 visitors, and hosted renowned Croatian and international artists. The goal of establishing of the new programmes – Side B, and Hommage to Martin Kolunić Rota, is to maximize the potential of everything the Fortress has to offer. In order to fill up our summer stage programme calendar, the second invitation for the application of the musical-scenic programmes and the allocation of the dates on St. Michael's Fortress.
The second invitation has been announced in mid-May, and now, with great pleasure, we can announce the new programmes on the summer calendar of the St. Michael's Fortress.

SIDE B, the new art programme organized by the Fortress, will soon begin. The other side of the beautiful open-air stage is the smaller one - a stage made of stone, underneath the amphitheater audience. In an intimate, club atmosphere of the magical space of cultural and historical heritage, for all art lovers unladen by the genre, we bring you well-known names from the world of music, dance and performance arts.
''With the Side B programme we intend to show the multi-functionality of the Fortress' space, and create a kind of buzz on the St. Michael, that will last throughout summer. Beside our usual daily programme, and the summer stage programme, our wish was also to have performers whose artistic expression requires smaller and more intimate location, and our space underneath the seats fits that description. Like elsewhere on the Fortress, the mix of historical and modern gives a special touch to the whole story, and I believe both performers and audience will be pleased. Also, this is a programme created not only as a extra content for foreign visitors, but especially for our Friends Club, which will have a free entrance, and we would like to invite them to come to our Side B events, to enjoy the sunset above the Šibenik archipelago, and to carry on with their evening and enjoy the performances of top Croatian and international artists'', said Gorana Barišić Bačelić, Head of the Department for Management of Fortification System Facilities.
The first ones who will, as a part of the Side B programme, roll the stone of the awakened Šibenik's culture, are Elvis Stanić and Neven Frangeš. The performance of the one of the best contemporary Croatian guitarists and renowned jazz pianist has been planned for June 24th, but due to unfavorable weather conditions, the event was postponed for July 6th.
All Side B programmes will be free for the members of our Friends Club with the membership card, and for everyone else, the price will be a daily entrance fee of 35kn.
