On Sunday, November 8th, on the European Arthouse Cinema Day which celebrates the diversity of European cinemas and independent films, the Fortress of Culture Šibenik, together with its partners in the Connecting Cinemas project, will once again show that national borders and the global coronavirus pandemic are not obstacles to cultural exchange, socializing and having fun.
So the event is moving to an online platform for all fans of movies, music and quizzes!
At 8 PM, on the Connecting Cinemas project Facebook page, as well on the Pub Quiz Azimut and Barone Fortress FB pages, starts an online film quiz created by the Quiz Association Šibenik. Valerio Baranović will guide you through the questions with the musical accompaniment of Goran Subašić (a.k.a. Veliki Gogo), and teams from all over Europe will be guessing the answers to film questions and musical numbers from famous movie soundtracks! You can apply via listed Facebook pages from 19:30.
For those who want to know more: from 19:00, via Zoom application, you can travel to the countries of project partners. A series of short films collectively titled “On the Road to My Cinema,” will show how the pandemic has affected everyday life in the context of local cinemas.
Along with the Fortress of Culture and the leading partner, the German cinema and cultural center Neue Kammerspiele from Kleinmachnow, in the project Connecting Cinemas in Rural Areas, also participate: Public Art Lab (Germany), Amza Pellea Cinema (Romania), Cinema Star, (Greece) , M2C Institute for Applied Media Technology and Culture at the City University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands) and KEA European Affairs Brussels (Belgium).
The project is co-funded by the European Commission from the priority Europe ready for the digital age, and is implemented under the call "Cinemas as Innovation Hubs for Local Communities". The total budget of the project is € 611,455.00, of which the amount of € 72,440.00 refers to the budget of the Fortress of Culture Šibenik.
