Unstoppable American songwriter Laura Pergolizzi, best known as LP, is coming to Croatia for the first time, on July 25th to fill St. Michael’s Fortress with her mighty voice. Only a thousand of her admirers will enjoy in performance of this artist, on a stage as just unique as her.
While critics compare her with icons such as Johnny Cash and Stevie Nicks for strength of her vocals, it is truly unmistakeable for any other on the world’s music scene. LP’s appearance resembles young Dylan, and is the perfect fit for her timeless tunes with attitude.
LP’s palatability was sharpened by several years of writing songs for icons such as Cher, Rihanna and Christina Aguliera when she finally turned to song writing, following her extraordinary style that have led to release of debut album Heart-Shaped Scar.
Turning point in her career marks release of eclectic album Death Valley, especially for its lead single Lost On You. The single was acclaimed by worldwide critics and put LP on the top of the international music charts. The album also features pop sounding Other People and Muddy Waters, gospel-like song that highlights powerful and rasping voice which made her leave an untraceable mark on contemporary music scene.
Although LP’s lyrics are filled with quirks (wordplay), she believes the music doesn’t have to be complicated. Her songs are made by expressive vocal, whistling – her signature element – and dreamy ukulele sounds, the combination that made her songs recognizable.
Between this year’s performance on all leading European festivals, LP is coming to fill up St. Michael’s Fortress stage with unique rock vibes, immediate charm and fascinating voice that leaves no one indifferent.
