The work on revitalization project of St. John's Fortress is in full swing! One of the main contents of third revitalized Šibenik's fortress, that will be managed by Fortress of Culture, is the educational campus. At The Polytechnic of Šibenik the educational programmes were presented today. They were created and presented by Jelena Jovanović, archaeologist and senior curator at Archaelogical Museum Split.
"St. John's Fortress, our biggest fortress, opens many possibilities for enrichment and enhancement of city'y touristic, cultural and educational offer. Besides gastro visual concept Obsidio (with the menu of Rudolf Štefan, the owner of Michelin star holder restoraunt Pelegrini) we wanted to developed an initial educational programme for the capmus, to present rich cultural heritage of Šibenik", spoke the mayor Dr. Željko Burić.
Project leader, the head of Department of Entrepreneurship, Economy and Development of City of Šibenik Petar Mišura higlighted that educational campus has 3 equipped classrooms, kitchen, common area and rooms for 50 guests.
"We outsorced an expert with experience and prizes for working with children and got variety of documents with programmes, workshops, study case, presentations, quizes and much more. I remind you, for this purposes we had acquired midibus, that allows us a wide opportunities for performance of these programmes", said Mišura.
Jelena Jovanović shortly presented her programme and pointed out these are activitied that can me modulated for different visitors and complemented by Fortress of Culture needs. The Dean of Polytechnic of Šibenik Dr. Ljubo Runjić has expressed his contenment with cooperation on this project.
"The produced material is a great foundation for our next project. We continously observe and take part in all activities in the revitalisation project to make sure we are ready for the first months after opening", said Gorana Barišić Bačelić, direcor of Fortress of Culture.
After the presentation, students have played a quiz about Šibenik's heritage, written by Jelena Jovanović.
