It is always a pleasure to participate in inspiring panels with colleagues and be recognized as an example of successful practice! Yesterday we participated in a panel This Is How We Do It! organized by CED - MEDIA Office Croatia. One of the key themes of the event was how to strengthen cooperation between neighboring countries in the region and beyond and how to contribute to greater visibility of small countries.
It was also an opportunity to present the work of the Fortress of Culture, the new venue House of Arts Arsen and also successful project Connecting Cinemas in Rural Areas, which aims to connect European audiences through cooperation and development of joint programs, strengthening our own capacities and organizing cultural events with project partners. All topics were presented by Gorana Barišić Bačelić, Fortress of Culture's director.
The panel was also attended by the heads of the regional MEDIA Offices - Esther Krausz from Austria, Kamen Balkanski from Bulgaria, Ines Kežman from Slovenia, Nevena Negojević from Serbia, Susana Costa Pereira from Portugal and representatives of Croatian creative industries Ankica Jurić Tilić (producer at Kinorama), Alen Munitić ( director of Mediterranean Film Festival Split and project manager at Kino Mediteran), Matea Gojčeta Milić (producer of World Festival of Animated Film - Animafest Zagreb).
The panelists were welcomed by Mr. Christopher Peter Marcich, Director of the Croatian Audiovisual Center, Ms. Anja Jelavić, Acting Director of Directorate for Cultural and Artistic Development and International Cultural Cooperation at Ministry of Culture and Media and later Mr. Ognian Zlatev, Head of the European Commission's Representation in Croatia.
