As part of the EMOUNDERGROUNDS project implemented by Fortress of Culture Šibenik, a drama training programme Become Virgil (or at least a little Faust) was designed. From today it is performed as part of this year's program of the International Children's Festival Šibenik.
The programme is led by Zagreb theater director Mario Kovač, and brings together young lovers of dramaturgy and acting who want to learn how to revive historical events and people with dramaturgy. In 40 hours, from June 28 to July 2, participants training will be aimed at the role of guide. The backbone of the programme will be Virgil, Dante's guide through his most famous work Divine Comedy, but participants will concentrate on sites related to the history of Šibenik. The final product of the will be an interactive peripatetic walk through the city center with a number of lectures.
3 WORKSHOPS IN TOTAL
In addition to this programme, as part of the project Fortress of Culture designed two more, for future entrepreneurs and creative minds.
Masters of Digital is a training programme for children who want to immerse themselves in the world of digital technologies, processing and interpretation of content. Attendees learn how to use 3D scanning, 3D design and modeling in the ThinkerCard program so that digitized content can be preserved and used in the creation of AR and VR applications, with an emphasis on the use of digitized cultural heritage.
On the other hand, Search for Heritage in a fun and interactive way shows how to value different segments of the rich heritage and explore the history of the city. Through educational and creative activities, the young participants get acquainted with the development of theatrical life in Šibenik, the role of salt and saltworks in the history of the city, industrial achievements that shaped today's Šibenik and the history of Šibenik hats and make them in the form of souvenirs.
ABOUT PROJECT
EMOUNDERGROUNDS project (EMOtional technologies for the cultural heritage valorization within the UNDERGROUNDS cross border) implementation is co-financed from the Interreg ADRION transnational cooperation program, in the amount of 85% of the value. Total project value is is 2,599,994.86 euros; the budget of the Fortress of Culture amounts to slightly less than 2 million kuna (264,387.78 euros), and the most significant investment within the project relates to the implementation of VR technology for the purpose of storytelling at Šibenik fortresses.
