Alone we can do little; together we can do so much!
With this thesis, we started a new local lab meeting within the EU project Connecting Cinemas in Rural Areas called ENGAGE. It is the involvement of local associations and their contribution to the projects what affects the quality of life in the whole community. Therefore, we presented to our associates and local city associations the House of Arts Arsen, a venue that will unite different types of art, create and develop new audiences, habits and moments of socializing.
THE ART OF FILM
An important part of the program of the House of Arts Arsen will be the film programme focused on an independent film and the art scene as a continuation of the successful cinema screening activity of the Fortress of Culture. The cooperation with HAVC and with film festivals which are among the most important promoters of independent and art film in Croatia will continue during the creation of the program. What is especially important to emphasize is that the development of the film program and additional activities, screenings and workshops in the House of Art Arsen, will seek to develop the knowledge, skills and affinities of young people towards the seventh art. We believe that the cooperation with the local community will continue in the future in Arsen, as a new place that will become a meeting point for art and creation.
ABOUT CONNECTING CINEMAS
Along with the Fortress of Culture and the leading partner, the German cinema and cultural center Neue Kammerspiele from Kleinmachnow, in the project Connecting Cinemas in Rural Areas, also participate: Public Art Lab (Germany), Amza Pellea Cinema (Romania), Cinema Star, (Greece) , M2C Institute for Applied Media Technology and Culture at the City University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands) and KEA European Affairs Brussels (Belgium).
The project is co-funded by the European Commission from the priority Europe ready for the digital age, and is implemented under the call "Cinemas as Innovation Hubs for Local Communities". The total budget of the project is € 611,455.00, of which the amount of € 72,440.00 refers to the budget of the Fortress of Culture Šibenik.
