The Fortress of Culture presented the progress of activities so far within the EMOUNDERGROUNDS project at the 2nd project meeting held today. The online meeting was led by representatives of the Greek Municipality of Andravida-Kyllini, and in addition to the Fortress of Culture, representatives of all other project institutions participated: Municipality of Carpi (ITA), Development Agency Porin Rijeka (HRV), Regional Development Center Koper (SVN), Municipality of Ivančna Gorica (SVN), Municipality of Kukes (ALB), Tourist Organization of the Municipality of Bar (MNE), Public Institution Agency for Development of Small and Medium Enterprises of the City of Trebinje (BIH).
Ida Carolla in front of the leading partner of the Municipality of Nardo greeted the gathered and briefly commented on the activities carried out in the last six months. As the common goal of the project partners is to increase the attractiveness and competitiveness of the territories involved in order to strengthen social and economic development and sustainable and smart growth of the entire macro-Adriatic region by creating and promoting a new integrated cultural tourism product based on advanced emotional technologies and innovative marketing tools, the partners in turn presented the progress at their locations.
The Fortress of Culture presented project activities that resulted in new research documentation related to the St. Michael's Fortress and it's virtual 3D model. Highlighting the planned activities for the future, the representatives of the Fortress of Culture presented the programme outlines for events planned for next year at the fortresses.
The participants of the project meeting pointed out that, in addition to carrying out regular planned activities, there is a need to constantly respond to the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic. Hoping that the situation will soon stabilize, the Fortress of Culture invited those present to participate at the 3rd project meeting, which will be led by the Institution, bringing together partners in Šibenik during June 2021.
The project EMOUNDERGROUNDS (EMOtional technologies for the cultural heritage valorization within the cross border UNDERGROUNDS) is implemented within the transnational cooperation program Interreg ADRION, and the total value is 2,605,497.06 euros, of which 85% is co-financed by the European Union from the ERDF and IPA II Fund. The budget of the Šibenik Fortress of Culture within the project of the same name amounts to slightly less than 2 million kuna (264,387.78 euros), and the most significant investment within the project relates to the implementation of VR technology for storytelling purposes at Šibenik fortresses.
