Koke - with members of the film team in attendance

dir. Igor Jelinović; Croatia, Serbia; 2026; 97 min

The biggest winner of the 73rd Pula Film Festival, Koke took home four Golden Arenas: the Grand Golden Arena for Best Film, the Golden Arena for Best Screenplay awarded to Igor Jelinović, the Golden Arena for Best Leading Actress awarded to Snježana Sinovčić Šiškov, and the Golden Arena for Best Supporting Actress awarded to Aleksandra Janković.

The feature debut of Split-based director Igor Jelinović uses sharp humour to explore family dynamics and intergenerational conflict. Tonina runs an accounting firm where she employs both her husband and daughter. She is also a devoted sister and mother who keeps the entire family together while caring for her bedridden mother. Her younger sister, Tajana, leads a far more relaxed and less ambitious life with her own family. Tensions between the sisters escalate when Tonina secretly buys a share of the family house on the island of Hvar, despite their agreement to purchase it together.

The film premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam and opened the 19th Split Mediterranean Film Festival before its domestic audience. The Pula jury praised its precisely crafted dramaturgy and authentic dialogue, which successfully combine a strong local identity with classical dramatic storytelling, as well as the outstanding performances of Snježana Sinovčić Šiškov and Aleksandra Janković.
