Morrissey
Legendary musician Morrissey will perform at St. Michael’s Fortress in Šibenik on July 19.
Following a sold-out North American tour in 2024 and overwhelming demand for shows in Dublin, Glasgow, and Manchester, Morrissey is embarking on a summer European tour, starting on June 12 in Madrid. Among the carefully selected venues is St. Michael’s Fortress.
Morrissey’s influence and musical legacy are undeniable. He is regarded as one of the most influential British pop artists and one of the greatest songwriters of his generation. With thirteen studio albums, multiple chart-topping hits, and the prestigious Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music, his impact is immense.
As the frontman of The Smiths, he made an indelible mark on music history with just four albums. As a solo artist, he has created a distinctive sound that continues to resonate, making him one of the most acclaimed voices of the past four decades. The release of The Smiths’ debut single, Hand in Glove, was a turning point in music, followed by anthems that became timeless classics, including This Charming Man, How Soon Is Now?, There Is a Light That Never Goes Out, Suedehead, Everyday Is Like Sunday, Irish Blood, English Heart, First of the Gang to Die, and many more.
Morrissey’s solo discography includes 15 albums that reached the UK Top 10, including Viva Hate, Bona Drag, Kill Uncle, Your Arsenal, Vauxhall and I, Southpaw Grammar, Maladjusted, You Are the Quarry, Greatest Hits, Ringleader of the Tormentors, Years of Refusal, World Peace Is None of Your Business, Low in High School, California Son, and I Am Not a Dog on a Chain. Three of these albums topped the charts across three different decades. In the U.S., California Son and Low in High School both secured Top 10 positions.
Morrissey is the first announced name of the new concert season at St. Michael’s Fortress, a venue that has been bringing world-renowned artists to Šibenik for over a decade, cementing its status as one of the most sought-after summer concert destinations.
