Little Trouble Girls

director Urška Djukić; Slovenia, Italia, Croatia, Serbia; 2025.; 90'

Fresh from its success at the Pula Film Festival - where editor Vladimir Gojun took home the Golden Arena for Best Editing in the Minority Co-Production category - Good Girls, a sensual coming-of-age tale, is set to light up the screen at Barone Fortress.

At the heart of the story is Lucija, a quiet, introspective sixteen-year-old. When she joins the girls’ choir at her Catholic school, she forms a close bond with Ana-Marija, a charismatic and flirtatious upperclassman. But when the choir heads to a secluded convent for a weekend of intensive rehearsals, Lucija’s fascination with a dark-eyed art restorer begins to strain her friendship with Ana-Marija and the rest of the group. As she begins to explore her sexuality and come into her own, Lucija is forced to confront her values, desires, and the emotional boundaries of adolescence.

Directed by Slovenian filmmaker Urška Djukić—acclaimed for her animated short The Granny’s Sexual Life (2021), winner of both a European Film Award and a César—Good Girls marks her feature debut. The film premiered at the Berlinale, where it was honored with the prestigious FIPRESCI Award.

Croatian co-producer Katarina Prpić (356 Films) leads the domestic contribution to the film, which also includes editor Vladimir Gojun, makeup assistant Anela Sokolac, and camera team members Srđan Kokanov and Filip Friščić.
