Lela Kaplowitz Kvintet
Renowned Croatian jazz vocalist with global musical experience, Lela Kaplowitz, is coming to Barone Fortress accompanied by top-notch musicians!
Her performances are memorable, filled with passion and positive energy. Her repertoire includes the well-known American jazz and blues songbook, original compositions, and covers of popular Croatian pop and rock hits. Lela always gathers talented musicians around her, with whom she performs effortlessly and virtuously. She has collaborated with the prestigious Duke Ellington Orchestra and the HRT Jazz Orchestra.
Lela considers the highlight of her career to be her performance at Carnegie Hall in New York in 2019. Recently, she and her husband received the prestigious 'Miroslav Sedak-Benčić' award from the Croatian Composers' Society for their original work and contribution to the development of the jazz scene in Croatia.
As part of the Barone Jazz Festival, the quintet will perform original compositions and well-known jazz and blues standards.
