Jerko Jurin Quartet

As part of the Barone Jazz Festival, the Jerko Jurin Quartet will perform on the stage of the Barone Fortress on August 13.

Formed in 2022 in Zagreb, the ensemble performs original jazz music that intertwines elements of contemporary jazz, improvisation, harmonic progressions, contemporary electronic music, ambient, and experimental music.

The quartet consists of outstanding young jazz musicians: Pavle Jovanović on electric guitar, Luka Čapeta on electric guitar, and Hrvoje Kralj on double bass and electric bass guitar, alongside Jerko Jurin on drums. Through the quartet's intensive work, a unique language and syntax have developed among its members, enabling the group to combine various influences and musical concepts into coherent musical wholes.

The ensemble has performed at numerous concerts and festivals in Croatia, such as the Jazz in Woods series in Koprivnica, the Kunstbunker festival in Duga Resa, and the International Jazz Day organized by the Croatian Musicians Union. Now, it is time for them to present themselves to the audience in Šibenik with compositions from the album 'Deceptive Simplicity'.
