Porter's unique voice and special mix of blues, jazz and gospel left the audience at St. Michael's Fortress in the summer of 2017. It is a performance that we still remember very well and we are excitedly waiting for the return of this fantastic musician to Šibenik!
Gregory Porter comes from a musical family. He started singing in church, where his mother was a pastor and his father was a singer. After an injury prevented him from developing a sports career, he turned to music and moved to New York to build a career.
He released his debut album 'Water' in 2010, and his popularity skyrocketed with his third album 'Liquid Spirit', which became a phenomenon with over a million copies sold and earned the singer his first Grammy. The 2020 album 'All Rise' was also nominated for a Grammy Award. In 2021, Porter releases the compilation 'Still Rising' with five brand new songs and greatest hits in new arrangements, along with duets with Paloma Faith, Moby, Jamie Cullum, Jeff Goldblum, Ella Fitzgerald and others.
This year he released a Christmas album called 'Christmas Wish', which includes a selection of traditional classics as well as three original songs.
In addition to an impressive music career, Porter is the creator and host of the podcast 'The Hang', a series of conversations with his famous friends, as well as his own cooking show 'The PorterHouse'.
