Editors

The band Editors, a favorite from the UK, is returning to Croatia for a performance at Šibenik’s St. Michael's Fortress on Monday, August 26, 2024, marking their debut in Dalmatia.

The most beautiful open-air stage in Dalmatia will host the British alt-rock legends for an exclusive concert, which will undoubtedly be one of the biggest international acts to perform at St. Michael's Fortress this season. The band has previously sold out club and festival performances multiple times, from the Culture Factory to the small hall of Dom Sportova, and they have also headlined the Positive Concert in the large hall of Dom Sportova. Once again, they demonstrate their dedication to their Croatian fans, solidifying their cult status among the local audience over their two-decade-long impressive career.

With a biography filled with global hits and critically acclaimed albums, the band will bring songs from their impressive career to the stage in Šibenik. Alongside rock anthems like “Munich” and “Smokers Outside The Hospital Doors,” they will perform acclaimed classics such as “Violence,” “Papillon,” “Ocean Of Night,” “Formaldehyde,” as well as “The Weight of the World,” “Sugar,” “Hallelujah (So Low),” “A Ton Of Love,” “An End Has A Start,” “Black Gold,” and “The Racing Rats.”

Editors were formed in 2002 in Stafford, England, and just three years later, they were launched among the new British rock stars. Their debut album “The Black Room” from 2005 secured them a nomination for the prestigious Mercury Prize and performances at major festivals like Lollapalooza and Coachella. Their follow-up album “An End Has A Start” shot straight to number one on the UK album chart, alongside their first performances at Glastonbury. The third album, “In This Light And On This Evening” (2009), featuring the mega-hit “Papillon,” was followed by the brilliant “The Weight Of Your Love” (2013), the equally successful “In Dream” (2015), and their sixth album “Violence.” All of this was rounded off with the compilation “Black Gold,” which contains their greatest hits. The band, known for continually surprising with their sound, showed with their new album “EBM” that they are not afraid to take risks, collaborating with producer Blanck Mass on this electro-rock-charged studio release.

Led by the charismatic Tom Smith, with millions of records sold worldwide, platinum album sales, and consistently sold-out tours, Editors have proven themselves to be one of the most vital and renowned British bands. Their debut performance on the Šibenik stage at St. Michael's Fortress will be an opportunity to hear the best of a band that has already proven to be a great favorite among the local audience.
