Branimir Gazdik Quintet
Musical jazz evenings at the Šibenik fortress will be enriched by the performance of the Branimir Gazdik Quintet.
The Rijeka-based drummer has been active on the Croatian music scene for many years, collaborating with numerous musicians. He is a longtime member of the Elvis Stanić Group and the Marko Ramljak Mindset Sextet, and the regular drummer in Zlatan Stipišić Gibonni's band.
In his quintet, he brings together Lenart Krečič (saxophone), Maasej Kovačević (keyboards), Vedran Ružić (electric bass), and Mladen Hrvoje Ilić (percussion).
Together, they perform original music characterized by a fusion of various styles: jazz, funk, Latin sounds, and world music, which can also be heard on the quintet's latest album, 'Free Fall.' This is Gazdik's fourth album as a leader, which was nominated for a Porin award in the category of Best Jazz Album.
Gazdik has received multiple awards for his original work, including the Status award from the Croatian Musicians Union. In 2020, out of five nominations for the Porin award, he won for the jazz composition 'Gifted' from the album 'Live at Trsat Castle'. They will perform top-quality jazz at the Barone Jazz Festival on August 20.
TICKETS: Regular price 6€
The concert starts at 9 PM, and tickets priced at 6€ are available online via the Fortress of Culture website and at City Point.
