B's FUNstallation
B's FUNstallation, who released their third original album "Hold On" at the end of last year, celebrating 10 years of continuous activity, will be performing at Barone Fortress on July 20th as part of the Barone Jazz Festival.
This year, B's FUNstallation received nominations for the Porin Awards in the categories of Best Jazz Album and Best Jazz Composition.
Under the name B's FUNstallation, six musicians, brought together by trumpeter Zvonimir Bajević in the spring of 2012, embarked on a collaborative project where creative expression is fully open and encouraged by each member. The band naturally evolved from their longstanding musical collaboration and friendship within the HGM Jazz Orchestra Zagreb, followed by their shared professional journey in the Jazz Orchestra of Croatian Radio Television. The extensive participation of all members in various projects and collaborations with numerous musicians (such as the Elvis Stanić Group, Jazz Me Do Quintet, Satellite Quartet, Tamara Obrovac Transhistria Ensemble, Jazz Orchestra of Croatian Radio Television, HGM Jazz Orchestra Zagreb, The Problems, Lasse Lindgren Big Constellation, The Bonebomb, Big band RTV Slovenia...) has had a significant influence, leaving traces that they try to synthesize into their own interpretation of experiences, feelings, and situations through their original compositions.
B's FUNstallation consists of Mario Bočić (tenor saxophone), Zvonimir Bajević (trumpet, flugelhorn), Davor Doležal (guitar), Luka Žužić (keyboards, trombone), Goran Rukavina (double bass, electric bass guitar), and Borko Rupena (drums).
They have performed in almost every part of Croatia, and their first major international tour was a two-week journey in China in 2017, where they successfully played nine concerts in Mudanjiang, Dalian, Jilin, Shijiazhuang, Nanchang, Lishui, and Wuhan, captivating a large Chinese audience in prestigious concert halls.
After their debut album "Sixto," the band released "Blue Line," followed by their third album, "Hold On," which came out at the end of last year.
