Ramazuri - opening of 11th Šibenik Dance Festival
Playful combination of dance and circus on the stage of St. Michael's Fortress: Hungarian Ramazuri opens Šibenik dance festival!
The 11th edition of the Šibenik Dance Festival will open with the performance of the Hungarian play Ramazuri, that combines contemporary dance and circus elements. The performance is accompanied by live music through witty and playful choreography.
The music that accompanies the dance live is performed by its composers Izsák Farkas and Dávid Szarvas. The scenography also plays a very important role in the play, and with grandiose acrobatics of top technically trained dancers, the spectator is hypnotically introduced into the carnival atmosphere interspersed with elements of electroswing, ethno, jazz and hip-hop.
Šibenik audience will also be introduced to a guest 20-minute dance programme performed by 16 dancers from group Beyond Words Dance Company, an exceptional project of choreographer Kate Jablonski, which brought together exceptional dancers from Illinois, USA.
In July this year, the Šibenik Dance Festival will transform the city into a dance stage with performances at the fortresses and other stages in town, which have been hosting the best dance groups and artists from Croatia and abroad for years.
