THE GLOBAL POP MUSIC ICON WITH OVER 30 MILLION SOLD ALBUMS
Marc Almond is best known for his creative period with David Ball in the electro-pop sensation Soft Cell, earning global fame with the classic Tainted Love. Thanks to these exciting beginnings, diverse and innovative genre-wise, Marc Almond continued to pursue his musical career as a solo artist. Contemporary hits and collaborations like the one with Gene Pitney on Something's Gotten Hold of My Heart, or with Bronski Beat on I Feel Love earned him the status of a pop icon he continued to explore with theatre performances, prose and poetry, as well as interpretations of Russian romances and experimental rock operas. His 24 solo albums are pervaded by a variety of genres - from electronic music, post-punk, rock to big ballads and Russian folk. For many years, fans have been enjoying the classics Tears Run Rings, The Idol, Jacky and What Makes a Man a Man, just as his more recent hits like Child Star, Scar and A Kind of Love.
Proud, bold and eternally unique, Almond released the album Chaos And A Dancing Star at the end of January 2020, continuing to work with the renowned producer and author Chris Braide and winning music critics and fans. By first listening to the album, it's clear that this artist, after four decades of intense creation, still implements extremely imaginative concepts and collaborations - such as this new one, with the Jethro Tull legend - Ian Anderson, who joins him for the new single Lord of Misrule with a brilliant instrumental performance.
