Meet the speakers:
Alessandra Gariboldi is a cultural audience development expert. She holds degrees in Museum Pedagogy and Cultural Mediation from the University of Rome, a degree in Design of Integrative Cultural Systems from the Enaip Lombardia Foundation, and a degree in Conservation of Cultural Goods from the University of Parma. Alessandra is a senior researcher and consultant in the fields of visitor research and cultural project evaluation. Her primary focus comprises audience motivation and participatory approaches to audiences. She is the coordinator of the Fitzcarraldo Foundation's Research and Counselling Department, while she also collaborates with the Cultural Observatory in Piedmont, Italy. As a researcher and lecturer, she has been involved in some of the most important projects of audience development in the EU: Adeste+ (Audience Developer Skills and Training in Europe), Connect (Connecting Audiences) and Be SpectActive.
Agata Etmanowicz is the president of Impact Foundation that provides support to cultural organizations and institutions by means of audience development. She is a former employee of the Polish Ministry of Culture and a Coordinator of the European Civil Society Program. Agata is also the co-founder of the Poland Without Barriers Foundation, an organization that works toward breaking architectural and mental barriers, enabling people with disabilities to function in the society without difficulties. She conducts numerous workshops on audience participation and involvement in culture and inspires with her approach and knowledge in the fields of socio-cultural planning, cultural policies, and international cooperation. Agata actively takes part in organizations within the cultural sector on the global level. Among other things, she worked on audience development within the Applause Please program as part of the Rijeka 2020 - European Capital of Culture.
Rašeljka Bilić is an employee of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia, where she runs the Museum Activities Department. She graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb with degrees in Art History and Museology and obtained an MA in Art History. In 2014, she began her career at the Ministry of Culture - in the Directorate for the Development of Culture and Art in museum, gallery and art activities, and then from 2017, in the Directorate for Archives, Libraries, and Museums as Head of the Museum Activities Department. In those services, Rašeljka actively and regularly deals with the legislative framework for the performing of museum activities in the Republic of Croatia, as well as services related to strategic issues of museum activity development and the application of museology in everyday practice in Croatian museums. She published art reviews in the Vijenac magazine and is actively involved in the events of Zagreb’s art scene.
Tanja Kalčić is the Head of Participation in the Rijeka 2020 Project - European Capital of Culture that includes the Classroom program, general audience development, volunteering, and programs presented at the RiHub. Therefore, first and foremost, investing in people - through education, providing new experiences and knowledge to people through volunteer programs, minding the interests of the audience, and facilitating the implementation of citizens for citizens programs. For many years, Tanja headed the Prostor Plus Association, through which she prepared and organized educational and art programs, carried out EU projects dealing in non-formal cultural education and worked on the design of curricula for competency identification. She joined the EPK team in 2015, in the second round of bidding process, and has been leading the Classroom program since 2017, through which she has worked on strengthening the capacities of the cultural sector.
Jelena Androić is the executive director of the Liburnia Film Festival. She holds a degree in Journalism from the Faculty of Political Sciences in Zagreb and an MA from the Advanced Master of European Studies program. As a public relations manager, she worked at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Rijeka and at RIJEKA 2020 d.o.o. where she also worked as an audience development manager. As a freelancer in communications and promotion, she has worked for numerous cultural projects, managing media offices at Animafest Zagreb, World Festival of Animated Film, ZagrebDox International Documentary Film Festival, International Zagreb Film Festival, Liburnia Film Festival, International Student Film Festival STIFF and the White Lion Underwater Film Festival, as well as assisting in other film and cultural projects and with different institutions. She was employed in the fields of promotion and distribution, as a producer for the Filmaktiv association, and as a producer for the UKUS Association. She is a long-standing associate for the promotion of the Urban Culture Center Kino Šiška from Ljubljana, a former journalist for the paper Novi List, and an associate in several magazines and web portals in the fields of culture and tourism.
Gorana Barišić Bačelić is the director of the Fortress of Culture Šibenik, a cultural institution that takes care of the revitalized fortresses of Šibenik and is involved in various activities, from organizing cultural events to implementing European projects. She holds degrees in Art History and English Studies from the University of Zadar and is the author of a series of educational museum publications and scholarly articles. Gorana participated in numerous congresses and seminars which focused on culture, heritage, and museums. Fortress of Culture has won a number of prestigious professional awards under her leadership. Her areas of interest focus on cultural heritage management and interpretation of and audience development.
